Who is the best striker in mixed martial arts? Many names have been put forth, some good and some without merit. Alistair Overeem, Anderson Silva and Chuck Liddell have all been nominated at one time or another, but are these good examples? At last, I put the argument to bed with this list of the top five strikers in the sport.

UFC Undisputed released!
I finally got my hands on a copy of UFC Undisputed, and I gotta say it meets or exceed all of my expectations. I don't have much time to discuss it in fact, because I'm going back in to play some more. Anyone have any quick questions?
UFC Undisputed Welterweight Tournament
The guys over at Gamespot had a Welterweight tournament on their full copy of UFC Undisputed. Fighters included Matt Hughes, Georges St Pierre, Mike Swick, Diego Sanchez, Matt Serra and Karo Parisyan.

UFC Undisputed demo even better than expectations?
Wow. After playing the UFC Undisputed demo over the weekend, after countless rematches between Chuck Liddell and Shogun Rua, I'm dumbfounded. The game is even better than I expected.
With Chuck, my focus MUST be on the standup. Yes, I can take Shogun down and do some mediocre ground and pound, but if I stay down there too long and I inevitably get reversed into defensive guard (or worse). Does this reversal come about too easily? Not really, considering that I shouldn't be down there in the first place. That's not Chuck's game.
Shogun can strike or submit, and it's shown in-game. While submissions are tough against Chuck...well, aren't they always? As Shogun, I'm never too worried about Chuck's ground game unless he has me mounted. But not being worried about Chuck's offensive ground doesn't mean that my defensive ground will result in automatic submissions. That doesn't work in real life, and it doesn't work here. Submissions are very hard to get.
After playing consistently, I'm able to win fairly regularly on the 2nd highest skill level (Advanced). Yet I'll still get blasted to Mars by a Chuck high kick that I don't block, or a slick Shogun transition to mount that ends up in my TKO loss via GnP. The game is exhausting to play, requiring a vigilant attitude towards avoiding takedowns, passing guard, escaping, clinching, and remembering to keep your hands up. And gameplans are a must. Go out and button mash and you're not going to last long.
I can't wait for May 19 :)

More on UFC Undisputed's gameplay and controller setus
More exciting details are emerging on UFC Undisputed's gameplay, courtesy of www.videogamer.com:
And here are more details on Undisputed's grappling and controller setup:
THQ and Zuffa appear to be ramping up the previews and press releases for UFC Undisputed, as the release date quickly nears. Keep checking back here at UFC Game News for all the latest updates!
At first glance it looks a bit like a wrestling game, perhaps another title from that other THQ franchise, WWE. Then when you first start to play, there are certain similarities to boxing games like Fight Night and Prizefighter: your ability to aim punches and kicks at different height levels, and the importance of your most powerful attacks. Both of these comparisons hold some weight, but the longer you spend with Undisputed the more it feels like something new altogether - a fighting game where the upper hand can shift at a moment's notice.
In gameplay terms, these different victory conditions mean you might be taking a pummelling from your rival, but then suddenly deliver a kick to his head that sends him staggering back. Or perhaps you'll have an opponent pinned beneath you, but then he'll swiftly grab your fist and force you into a painful arm lock. A fight might be a long and drawn-out slug-fest, or it might end in seconds. It's all down to your skills, your tactics - and above all else, your ability to react.
And here are more details on Undisputed's grappling and controller setup:
In its simplest form, grappling might simply involve a standing clinch: one fighter grabs the other and hammers him from close-up, using the face buttons. Then you have takedowns, initiated via a combination of the left trigger and the right analogue stick: one fighter rushes an opponent and attempts to knock them to the floor in a risky manoeuvre that can easily backfire, if mistimed...There are many different positions you can wind up in, but in each there's an attacker and a defender. If you've got the upper hand, the idea is to use the right stick to quickly perform a transition - a move that shifts your opponent into a better position, so that you can bend back bits of him the wrong way (or do something else equally cheerful).
Transitions come in two flavours - minor and major - but both are performed through repeated actions on the right stick: either a quarter circle movement, or something more like a third-of-a-circle movement. The precise nature of where the movement starts and ends goes hand-in-hand with where your fighter starts on the screen, and where they'll move to: if you're kneeling over an opponent's chest, a quarter-circle from down to left will result in you shifting to one side and bending your opponent's arm. Your opponent may then try to break out of this move or reverse it with a different command, or they may panic and start mashing the pad (hey, it seems to work sometimes).
THQ and Zuffa appear to be ramping up the previews and press releases for UFC Undisputed, as the release date quickly nears. Keep checking back here at UFC Game News for all the latest updates!
